How long you can stay
A Schengen short-stay visa lets you stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The visa shows the exact length of stay, and you must leave before the visa expires (European Commission, Migration and Home Affairs).
Arrival rules
The visa portal's news notes that the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is fully implemented at Portuguese air and sea borders since 10 April 2026.
