Residence visa for higher education
Needs admission to a university and enough financial resources. The visa is valid for two entries and four months, then you apply for a residence permit with AIMA.
Temporary stay visa for study under one year
Needs a document of enrolment from the institution, plus a host family statement or proof of housing.

Fee exemptions
The €110 fee does not apply to children under 6 and to foreign nationals with a Portuguese study scholarship, among others. An appeal costs €75.
